Floyd Kroger Releases Debut Single “Father” on Father’s Day

MEMPHIS, TN — Memphis singer-songwriter Floyd Kroger has officially released his debut single, “Father,” following Father’s Day weekend, sharing a deeply personal story of loss, faith, healing, and redemption.

At just nine years old, Kroger experienced the heartbreaking loss of his father. Growing up without an earthly father left a void in his life that shaped many of his childhood years. Searching for comfort and understanding, he turned to writing as an outlet for his pain, eventually discovering a gift that would become his purpose.

What began as a way to cope with grief blossomed into a lifelong passion for songwriting. Over the years, Kroger has written more than 40 songs and has been featured on numerous projects by local artists throughout the Memphis area.

While many may assume “Father” is simply a tribute to the dad he lost, the song carries an even deeper message. Inspired by the absence of his earthly father, Kroger found strength, guidance, and unconditional love through his Heavenly Father. The song reflects his personal journey of overcoming loss and discovering that God was present even during his darkest moments.

“Father is a testimony,” says Kroger. “I lost my earthly father as a young boy, but God stepped in and became the Father I needed. This song was birthed from pain, but it speaks of healing, faith, and God’s unfailing love.”

Today, Kroger is a proud father of five, a role that has given him an even greater appreciation for the importance of a father’s presence. Through raising his own children, he has gained a deeper understanding of the love, sacrifice, and protection that fatherhood represents.

Known for his soulful style and charismatic performances, Floyd Kroger has also earned recognition as an actor, model, and architect. Influenced by legendary artists such as Michael Jackson, Musiq Soulchild, Usher, Sam Cooke, Bobby Womack, Stevie Wonder, Jamie Foxx, Maroon 5, and John Legend, Kroger’s music crosses multiple genres. Yet he prefers to define his sound with one simple word: Love.

With the release of “Father,” Floyd Kroger transforms childhood pain into a powerful message of hope, proving that God can bring purpose out of pain and beauty from brokenness.

“Father” is now available on all major digital streaming platforms.
