He is a guest of Busta Rhymes on ‘Look Over Your Shoulder’ and, yes, he rocks as always. The song also features a sampling of young Michael Jackson from ‘I’ll Be There’
Kendrick Lamar is back. His super agile rap is paired with Busta Rhymes’ big voice and a sampling of young Michael Jackson in Look Over You Shoulder . Busta Rhymes’ song takes its title from the phrase repeated by the king of pop in Jackson 5’s I’ll Be There , the 1970 single that plays at the beginning of the piece.
Look Over You Shoulder is taken from Busta Rhymes’ new album Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath Of God . It will be released tomorrow and will feature other notable collaborations, including those with Mariah Carey, Anderson .Paak, Q-Tip, Chris Rock (whom Lamar mentions in Look Over Your Shoulder ), Ol ‘Dirty Bastard, Rakim, Mary J Blige (found below tracklist and featuring).
In addition to the album, at midnight there will also be a short by Busta Rhymes linked to another song on the album, Czar feat. MOP
