But the reactions in defense of the singer have buried the few negative comments about her appearance in some photos that portray her walking around Los Angeles
Billie Eilish is trending on Twitter. Not for the No Time to Die video released at the beginning of October, but for some photos of her in a casual pose that caused some shameful comments about her body.
It all started when the Daily Mail published three photos taken last Sunday with the singer walking around Los Angeles in a tank top, shorts and Yeezy sandals on Monday, October 12 .
Some comments in English (the most popular is this: “Within 10 months, Billie Eilish had the body of a 30-year-old alcoholic mother”) and a couple of screenshots of some comments in Italian taken from Facebook (“Fa more disgusting than Adele 10 years ago “is one of those referable) provoked a flood of tweets in defense of Eilish and against body shaming. Result: the singer is in trend not for the few negative comments, but for the many positive reactions.
The theme of body shaming is dear to Eilish. During the Where Do We Go? Tour she presented a short called Not My Responsibility in which she undresses and asks: “Would you like me to be smaller? Weaker? Softer? Highest? Would you like me to shut up? Are my shoulders provoking you? ”. And then: “We make assumptions about people based on their size. We decide who they are. We decide what they are worth. Who decides what it means if I’m more or less dressed? Is my value as a person based only on your perception? Or is your opinion of me not my responsibility? ”.
